Needed an external door lock and handle replacing after an attempted break-in. Contacted Stephen as we had used his service before and were impressed then. Stephen arrived a few hours later as promised and replaced the lock and handle with a much more secure version – the same type as recommended by the police officer who attended our property earlier. We'd been struggling with our uPVC front door for months, not shutting, not locking and not unlocking. We had priced up a new door, but this was £1,200 so we just struggled on. When the door would no longer operate we called Stephen. He gave us a 'ball park' figure over the phone. He arrived promptly and looked at the door. He gave us a couple of options and we opted for the complete lock to be replaced. The cost of this was in line with his earlier price given over the phone. He did the work quickly and professionally. I don't often recommend businesses after just one experience... but I would recommend Danum Locksmiths without question to any of my family and friends. Stephen is a credit to his profession. I wish he was a builder, plumber and electrician because you don't find good reliable tradesmen easily these days.

Having moved into our house the week before Christmas, it was disappointing to find out that all the window openings upstairs were faulty, leaving the front bedrooms very cold and drafty. I snapped my key in the door lock many years ago, the complete mechanism had failed. The door has been locked ever since. I had finally given up and started to get quotes but they ranged wildly anywhere from £150 to £250+; was thinking about replacing the uPVC door altogether, but I finally phoned Danum locksmiths and spoke to Stephen who at the time was in the gym, this was about 12 ish on a Saturday. Arrived at my address within the hour, very friendly and informative about what he was doing. Recommended an anti-snap barrel when he was refitting the door mechanism. Tested fitment, alignment to ensure all was ok, could not fault his service. Great service didn't charge more for coming out on the weekend, would recommend to anyone, in fact, got his number saved for next time. Also just to mention for peace of mind, he is South Yorkshire Police Accredited which is why I opted for his services.
